Songwriting Workshops and Retreats

London Songwriters

Roundel Glint 300

I organise and facilitate the London Songwriters Workshop and Songwriting Retreat group. After eight years we now have around 2050 members.

Workshops are held on a Sunday or Saturday afternoon at least once a month in Central London and are an enjoyable, informative mix of collaboration, craft presentation/discussion, networking, songshare and feedback.

We have occasional music industry guest speakers and collectively we have played events such as The Bloomsbury Festival and concerts for the Crisis At Christmas homeless charity for whom we raised £1062 in 2015.

We also run highly affordable and productive Countryside Songwriting Retreats including the Summer Songwriting and Recording Camp at Box Hill.

You can find us on meetup at www.LondonSongwriters.co.uk and at www.LondonSongwriters.org

Songwriting Retreats

I teach and facilitate countryside Songwriting Retreats. Here are some testimonials from the seven 2015-2017 events:

‘I have just been on a really fabulous retreat for songwriters with Murray Webster. If you want a laid back but focussed, friendly, supportive event to do some collaborative and/or solo songwriting and develop your skills, Murray’s are the best out there at an affordable price.’ – Jess Gold

Hugely enjoyed the event. I’ve really re-discovered my love for music this week…and it’s given me a real focus going forwardPaul Brienza

“An extraordinarily stimulating and inspiring week, due in no small part to Murray’s guidance and vision.   The thoughtful and challenging songwriting exercises...allowed participants to understand more about each other: an essential ingredient for shared songwriting activities! – Jane Kelson

“For anyone with even a hint of creativity, going on one of Murray’s Song Writing retreats will not only bring it out of you, but the atmosphere of the place, the support of everyone else and Murray’s gentle approach will turn it into a creative experience you won’t forget.” – Martyn Adams

Song Circle Workshops

I have also facilitated smaller group ‘Song Circle‘ workshops where we can analyse participants songs and share tips in more detail:

I’m picking up so much information and tips at our sessions, its been fantastic. Thank you so much!”

Murray has been working and inspiring us with his enthusiasm and knowledge for the last 5 sessions on songwriting, which as a group of songwriters has been of great value to us. He has encompassed our varying styles of writing with an encouraging and sensitive approach and given us informative hand out notes and homework after each session. We look forward to more sessions where we will continue to benefit from his teachings.” – Lesley Stone

The lesson was really great, looking forward to the next!” – Hubert Murray
